We are only a quarter of the way through the 2020 season, so this is the perfect time to take an early look at how the rookies from the 2020 draft are panning out. Most draft experts agree that it takes at least two seasons to accurately rate a draft, but it's never too early to get started. So lets get started with the Studs!

It would be impossible to overlook Barry Haynes when mentioning the studs of the 2020 Draft. He's been running like he was shot out of a cannon and that's propelled his team to a 3-1 record. This includes a thrilling OT win over the reigning NFC Champion (My personal SB champion) and fellow division rival Packers. Haynes was selected with the 18th overall pick in the draft. He was projected to go higher, but many teams shied away due to his age. He has made it his mission to make everyone regret that decision.

Our next stud is torching defenders up in Foxboro. His name is DeJuan Lester and if you didn't know that, you will soon. He was widely regarded as the best receiver in the draft. He drew many comparisons to Anquon Boldin as he would regularly win with his size and route running. At 6'4 230 lbs it is rare to see someone with hops that he has. This is a big reason behind him leading the NFL in receiving for the first quarter of the season. He is following in the footsteps of Raven's receiver Emmanuel Parry who also lead the league in receiving yards as a rookie. Lester has worked hard to dispel the scouting reports that said he lacked the focus to catch passes consistently without drops.

When you take a player #1 overall, you are praying that they turn out to be a Stud. The Bills prayers were answered when they drafted Noah Marler with the first pick in the 2020 draft. Noah Marler has the arm strength to make any pass you can think of. He also has the accuracy to hit short and intermediate routes with pinpoint accuracy. His deep ball is his weakest point, and that is still ahead of most veterans in the league. Despite his 8 ints through the first four games on the season, the Bills are off to an AFC East leading 3-1 start. I for one look forward to his progression and seeing how far his talents will take him.

The Packers hit gold this year with their selection of Tyree Durant. His stats at this time don't jump off the page, but he has an obsession with learning. He believes that he can be the best player out of this draft and many experts believe that he may go down with that regard.

There are a couple of players who may not get as much acclaim as the previously mentioned players, but they still have bright futures ahead of them. One such player is Earl Barney of the Titans. He has everything you'd dream for in an elusive runner. He has the breakaway speed to hit the edge and the agility to make defenders miss. He is currently behind Veteran Dion Lewis on the depth chart, but I believe he will prove his second round draft position to be a steal in the near future. Ray Northern, rookie center for the Ravens, has shown that he could be a starter for years to come. He was selected in the second round, but has out shined their first round pick Brennan Heimburger in all aspects. Northern will never be the greatest physical player, but he has shown that his technique is what will win his battles in the trenches. A close source of mine has told me that Harmon Shoate of the Raiders has been the first person in and the last person out of the building. He's been glued to the hip of his veterans, he's been a sponge trying to soak up everything he could. He may not show it now, but I'd watch out for him in the future.
